Here's my philosophy on article marketing: The purpose of an article is to generate traffic. And it's very probable that more than half the visitors to an article don't even read it (though I hope you're not one of them!). Quality of your articles is important, and so is the quantity with which you write them and submit them!

When people click through on your articles, most will just click through to your site link in your resource box, decide to buy or optin or whatever it is, or just click away from your article. A very small percentage will even read your article. Maybe 1 in 10. That's 10 readers for every 100 visitors. And the title of an article is just as important than the content. You should be spending plenty of time crafting out a quality title.

I'd rather produce a good informative article that gets the point across than try to produce an article that will take hours to write. Some people have minds that race, and others can get in 30-50 words a minute. Some people have both. That's a lethal concoction for article marketing. If you can type very quickly and are already well versed in the topic, then you can crank out a 250-300 words article in 10 to 15 minutes without doing any research.

Most people write articles and when you read them, it reads like a textbook. You'd want to be conversational in your articles. Think about the most entertaining books you have read; more likely than not, the tone of the book was conversational. If you're new to affiliate marketing online, you may not have much money to spare for marketing and advertising efforts. Thankfully there are some great alternatives that cost little to nothing, other than your time. One of the best known is Article Marketing.

Article Marketing is the process of writing quality articles which are then given out free to various places around the web. These articles have your name and information on them, along with a link or two to your website. List Building: Setting Up a Synergistic List-Building System

Getting started with any project is the most important thing, and we don't always do it right. For instance, here is where people lose a lot of money, so this is really important.

If you're doing a teleseminar series, drive traffic, including your own list members to your list building squeeze page and be list building around a group of people who might be interested in the calls.

This is a great opportunity to monetize the thank you page, after people have joined the list, via the "homework" link or the "pre-call training." What youll find is that if only 30 to 50 percent of the people that sign up for your teleseminar list actually show up for the call, you still end up selling a certain percentage of them some product, right? It's like a head start.

Anyway, this happens in the first week of promotions. Drive traffic to your primary list building page for the whole series of calls.

At the same time, send three sample emails about the calls series to each of your speakers (and I would have three different emails--sequential emails), and say, Send these three emails about the teleseminar series or customize them to sound more like you.

If you have six speakers, be sure you get on all six of their lists, so that you know whether the emails were actually sent to their lists. And get each person to commit to the specific days that theyre going to send out. Get absolute dates. Im going to send out on a Wednesday, August 12th, Im going to send out on Thursday, August 13th and Im going to send out on Friday, August 15th.

And then those mornings, the first thing that you do is you pick up the phone and call the people who agreed to send out that day. Its your job to get as many of those people to mail out as possible, okay, and they wont. Its your job to motivate them to hustle and to remind them in a nice way, but make sure you get an absolute commitment from them in email and over the phone and make sure they have it written on their calendars.

For the Second week and subsequent weeks (assuming you hold a call once a week), change the destination URL for each speaker's affiliate link to the list building page for their particular event. If you have six people to interview, you should have seven squeeze pages for list building, including the one you used to advertise the entire series and one for each speaker.

Then what you can do is, one or two days before each call, get the person you're going to interview to send another message out to his or her list about their call. Tell your partners, What weve done is changed the destination of your affiliate link and it goes straight to the squeeze page for your interview.

Now heres the key; this is magic what Im about to explain to you. The key is you set up your autoresponder, and what youre going to do is when people opt-in for a particular call, whats going to happen is theyre going to be opting-in to a list for the speaker's call, and set it up so that you're list building, too, and that people are opting-in to your main list. Then, be sure to set your main list up so that it doesnt allow for multi-subscribes.

The main concept is because Bobby Jones is going to be driving straight to his squeeze page for his interview, you want to make sure that people get popped into your primary list as well, so that when you promote the calls in the future, you have everybody in one place.

Plus, for the thank you pages for your speaker's calls, you use a thank you page for their primary product, and make a bunch of money. Plus, you've been list building the whole way. The money's great, but it's really the list that matters. From a list, you can make money over, and over, and over again, even after the teleseminar series is over.

Articles, checking out my definition, are informative pieces of writing, usually relatively short, that conveys an idea or concept in a beneficial, appealing and/or entertaining manner. But what do you need articles for, you are an online marketer who wants to make as much profit as conceivable, right?!

It is perhaps stating the obvious, but you can ask just about any netrepreneur who have seen the secrets of generating repeat visitors to their website, and they will tell you it's all about content (that is CON-tent as in what is actually present inside, not con-TENT which implies something else utterly). As a consequence, what consumers like about a site is the stuff it has to offer them that has some substance about whatever subject they are intrigued by.

Articles are the meat of a majority of websites. They are what makes visitors stay on your sites and literally the stuff search engine spiders are looking for. Having nice looking graphics and images can indeed be attractive to some visitors, but then again everyday surfers go elsewhere if your site is too slow to load. Many people want to know how to make money by writing articles. I usually tell them that in order to make significant long-term money, they have to write one or more articles per day and keep at it for several months.

But what about the people who don't want to make significant long-term money? Are you out of luck if you just want to make a few hundred quick bucks? Not at all. In fact, it is quite easy to make quick money on the Internet if you are skilled at writing articles.

Go to one of the large forums in your niche, I use Digital Point and Warrior Forum. Once there, go to the sections for general marketing discussions. Look for questions on marketing a product and offer to write articles to help them promote their product. Then, enter a post or two on each forum offering to write articles for others.

You will not get rich using this technique. But then, you said you only wanted to make a few hundred, right? Most people will pay $4 - $5 per article, depending on length, quality, etc. If you are experienced, you can probably write a 400 - 500 word article in about half an hour. Therefore, you can pretty easily write four articles per day. If we use the lower figure of $4 each, you will earn about $480 in a month using this technique.

All in all, if you are looking to make quick money writing articles, forums are you best bet. This method has the added advantage of allowing you to set your own terms. If a client needs 10 articles, you can write five on day one and require some or all of the payment on delivery. However, in most cases, people want to review the articles before completing the payment.

If you do not want to spend time in the forums, you can use one of the many companies on the Internet that pay you for your articles. However, you will not make much more from these companies because they receive a portion of your earnings on every sale you make. And, because these companies have so many authors writing for them, you would not make much money right away.

Article marketing is such a great way to get highly qualified traffic to your web site, and it is so easy to break into article marketing, even if you are a beginner.

All you have to do to get started is to write an article and begin submitting to the major article directories. If you are just getting started, I recommend you submit your articles to the top ten article directories online, and then once you have written 20 articles, then once per month, submit to the top 100 article directories online.

So how do you do it?

1) Write article on topics that relate to your web site theme especially themes that correspond with people who visit your web site and buy from you.

2) These articles should be from 250 to about 500 words long. Some people think they should go a little longer, like maybe 750 words but my feeling is, I can get 3 articles for the time of one if I write them in 250-300 word chunks. And I think that shorter articles are easier for people to read, and click through to my web site and web pages.

3) Put a link to your web site in your article.

4) Submit your article to the top ten article directories online.

5) Write more articles.

I think that the single biggest mistake people make is that they only write a few articles. A few articles will do hardly anything for you. You really have to write more than just a few. There is an exponential effect to the articles that you write, in my humble opinion.
